Just wait and see
Hot summer (hot summer, yeah)
Shoo-be-do-we
Hot summer (oh, as long as you're my)
As long as you're my company
See the people gathered all around…
~ Prince
Salutations everyone! This is a short, but art-filled summer edition of the AYB recap.
We’ve been working on finishing up paintings for our fall exhibition, at work in the studio, and traveling. Don’t miss Jules and Liv playing live with Joopi at Arlene’s Grocerie (details at the bottom of this recap), and we have updated our GoFundMe page for fall semester AYB Advanced Studio!
In preparation for our upcoming exhibition of text based watercolor paintings at the Gallery at 180 Franklin Avenue, we had an informal finish up painting day at my house.
More details on our exhibition will be in the next recap!
Many AYB Artists have been at work in the studio!
Delphine Levenson completed a new fish piece in alcohol markers using a new type of paper.
Andrea Miralles writes: “I just finished a new 11"x17" print and adapted my originally A4 sized mango print into 11x17 as well. I started to vend them at my pop ups :) Here's my portfolio site.”
Vera Brown shares her latest painting!
I (Meridith) finished that big painting I shared in progress last month:
Some of us are traveling!
Karla Prickett visited “The Rabbit Hole”, in North Kansas City. Karla writes: “It is a huge walkabout experience on two levels of an old warehouse building reimagined by artist who have interpreted children’s books in 3-D!! Each book is brought to life with copies of the book mounted on the wall to reference if you choose.”
Dennis Buonagura visited the Glasgow Mural Trail and took this photo of a building sized mural of St Mungo by Smug.
Maraya Lopez is gallivanting at Stonehenge!
Ajani Russell encountered a rainbow on their way to the UK!
DON’T MISS AYB Artists Jules Lorenzo and Liv Collins playing with their band Joopi LIVE at Arlene’s Grocery, 95 Stanton Street, Lower East Side, NYC on Friday, Aug 16th.
